I’ve spent my career building systems and leading engineering teams in the federal government, for multi-billion dollar companies like Santander, and for smaller startups like Crowd Health. When my wife started describing what she was watching women go through, the first thing I thought was that the technical pieces to fight this exist. They just haven’t been assembled for this purpose. That’s what Whiteout is. I hope it helps.
The reason it had to exist.
In my personal life, I have watched friends and family members live with the heinous violation of their intimate images being shared. With deepfake AI, you don’t even have to participate in the creation of the content. Someone can take a picture of your face off of the internet and produce convincing images. That’s such an unsettling and exposing way to have to live. With Whiteout, we hope to lessen that burden. At enrollment if you provide imagery that you want removed from the internet it's immediately converted to a hash and the original is never stored. Every part of the pipeline works from the fingerprint alone.
